Exploring Austrian Wines: An Evening with Steininger
Posted On : 2011-07-20
Austria’s beautiful, pastoral terroir produces several unique grape varieties—starring Gruner Veltliner–with at least 10% processed organically and 100% by independent, family-owned and operated wineries. A couple of years ago, a food and wine critic for the New York Times reported just how much Austrians love Karl Steininger’s tasty sekts (sparkling wines) hailing from the Kamptal. Was he right—and then some! The world has fallen in love with these veltliner, muskateller blends—crisp, piquant, lively. Perfectly chic for summer in Vermont!
On August 9th, join the Panther, Artisanal Cellars and Christoph Nastle, future Steininger son-in-law and wine scholar, to explore and celebrate a pertinent and fantastically delicious story. A five course, locally-sourced meal played against the best pairings from the winery makes for a very hip dining event in the village. Please join us! CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO...
